Pasadena Week I lost count again

Hello all!

It is hot here in Pasadena. Our car told us it was 109 degrees today. Any suggestions for dealing with the heat are greatly appreciated 😊

It has been a wonderful week! The highlight was Saturday. On Saturday I got to go to the LA temple with Hna Lyman to watch some of my most favorite people, Triny and Armando, be sealed for time and all eternity! Their marriage is no longer "til death do you part" but for "todo el tiempo y toda la eternidad." It was the most incredible experience. I know that the sealing was carried out by the sacred priesthood power of God, the authority He gives to men to act in His name. That priesthood power was restored to the earth through the Prophet Joseph Smith. I have taught that to countless people here in California and I think I have grown in the surety of that fact each time I teach it! On Saturday, the Spirit of God confirmed to my heart that the power of the priesthood is real, and that through it, families can be sealed together forever in the temple.

On Sunday, Hna Arriagada and I were able to go back to the temple to give a tour of the visitors center to Blanca, a 15 year old who will be baptized on July 1. The Spirit again whispered to my heart that the temple is truly the house of God, and that no sacrifice is too great to obtain the blessing and hope and assurance of having an eternal family. I though of my own family and was filled with gratitude at the thought that I will be able to be with them forever because of the sealing power of the priesthood. This small year and a half apart is so worth it, because I get to help other families have that same assurance and hope!

I am grateful for each of you and your support! Have a wonderful week :)

Pasadena Week 10🌞

Met the Chick-fil-A cow #lifemade

Our area is on fire! So bright we can't see 🌞

Studies with Sisters Allen and Robinson - LOVE THEM.

I love my companion.

Hello from sunny Pasadena! We live in a state of constant heat
advisory haha it is SO hot! I am trying to drink lots of water and
stay hydrated while we are out working and talking to everyone!

This week was honestly really stressful! It really helped me to rely
more on God and less on my own strength. This week as I was studying
in the Book of Mormon, I read a verse that talked about being a
disciple of Christ, and it made me think of this quote: "A disciple of
Christ is one who is learning to be like Christ." I LOVE THAT. I am
not perfect, none of us are, but I am trying to become more like
Christ. I am so grateful that Jesus provides the way for us to follow
to become more like Him through our faith and willingness to change.
We are so lucky. And I feel so lucky to help people here in Pasadena
learn how to apply that love of Christ in their own lives and to see
them change.

Sorry this is shorter today, we are running late as usual :) have a
wonderful week!

Love,

Pasadena Week 9

Peruvian food 😋

I LOVE HNA ARRIAGADA

Hello everyone! I hope all is well with each of you :)

This week was a week full of meetings. Tuesday we had a meeting with
all the leaders in the mission, Wednesday we had an exchange with some
other sister training leaders, Thursday we taught in two meetings,
Friday we had two meetings with the leaders in these area.. it was a
lot of sitting and travel time. I felt like we didn't have a ton of
time to work in our area and to really teach people but I learned that
I didn't need to worry because God was here working all the time we
were in meetings, learning how to be better missionaries. He prepared
7 people to come to church and 5 new people to listen to the beautiful
message of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I feel so blessed to
be able to teach this gospel! And honestly I learn so much about it
every day. I think that if nothing else results from my going on a
mission, I will have learned so much more about how to apply the love
of Christ in my life, and that is more than worth all the hard days.

This week I rode a bus in California for the first time and it was
soooo fun! Also we are Peruvian food and it was SO yummy. Also. We
knocked on the door of this house and these girls opened the door with
what looked like little plants that looked exactly like this emoji 🌱
growing out of their heads! I'm sure they weren't actually growing on
their heads but it sure looked funny.. is there like a trend of having
plants on your head now or something?

I love being a missionary. I love being able to invite everyone to
come closer to Christ. I have been realizing that the important things
in life are not the material ones, but the spiritual. We can't take
our clothes or our food or cars or houses or phones with us when we
die.

Have a wonderful week!

Pasadena Week something (lost count whoops)

Hello everyone! This will be a shorter email again :( I will send lots
of pictures!

Here's the rundown:
I love my new companion. She is incredible.
Pasadena is BEAUTIFUL, and I love it so much.
The people we are working with are SO cool, I am so lucky to meet them
and help them!
God is working right alongside of us, and He loves us and knows us and
I know He is involved in the details of our lives. Anything that is
important to us is important to Him, and He truly wants us to be
happy.

Have an awesome week!

Love,
